My heels got so cracked, that I got scared…

I personally tried many recipes for fungus. But they only partially suppressed the pain. My heels got cracked so much, that I even cried. At the hospital the doctor told me, that he also suffered from this. But one beautiful day I came across a recipe, which totally made me forget this painful problem and I want to share the recipe with you too.

To prepare the ointment it is needed to take a full glass of sunflower oil, 25 grams of wax and 1 large onion. Chop the onion finely, fry in sunflower oil, until it turns golden. Then remove the onion and boil the oil a little more, add the wax and bring to a boil again. Cool slightly and pour into a glass jar (without sediment). First soften the heels on steam, scrub with a pumice stone and wash well, with running water. Then dry and apply the ointment. I personally repeated the procedure daily and the cracks disappeared very quickly. Now I have such beautiful heels, that I am simply delighted. However, I do not forget about prevention either: once a week I always sit down and apply the ointment to my heels. By the way, the ointment’s shelf life is not limited.

Cracked heels: a few more folk recipes

To prepare the medicine it is needed: dissolve 100 gr of aspirin tablets in 100 gr of alcohol and add 1 vial of iodine. Mix everything and lubricate the cracked heels with this mixture. Store the mixture in the dark in a closed container. Soon the heels will be similar to a baby’s skin.

Based on the ingredients in the recipes, here’s a look at why each one is thought to work in these folk remedies.

Ointment with Onion, Oil, and Wax

  • Sunflower Oil: This is a common carrier oil that’s rich in vitamin E, which is known for its moisturizing properties. It helps to soften and hydrate the skin, which can reduce the appearance of cracks.
  • Onion: Onions contain compounds with antibacterial and antifungal properties. In this remedy, the onion’s active components are thought to help fight the fungus and bacteria that can worsen cracked heels.
  • Wax: Wax acts as an occlusive agent, meaning it forms a protective barrier on the skin. This barrier locks in moisture from the oil and keeps the affected area hydrated, promoting healing.

Mixture with Aspirin and Iodine

  • Aspirin: Aspirin contains salicylic acid, a common ingredient in many commercial skin products for treating conditions like acne and warts. Salicylic acid helps to break down dead skin cells and soften thick, rough skin. This is the likely reason it’s included to treat cracked heels.
  • Iodine: Iodine is a well known antiseptic. It is often used to prevent infection in cuts and scrapes by killing bacteria and other microorganisms. In this recipe, it’s believed to have an antifungal effect.

Important Safety Note: While some of these ingredients have known properties, these specific remedies are not scientifically proven medical treatments. Applying a mixture of aspirin and iodine directly to your skin, especially to open cracks, can cause severe irritation, chemical burns, or other adverse reactions. For conditions like cracked heels and foot fungus, it is always safest to consult with a healthcare professional to get an accurate diagnosis and a proven treatment plan.
