Do you think it is very useful to drink a glass of cold water in the morning? It is time to find out how advisable this habit really is, because depending on the temperature, water can be useful, less useful, or even harmful.
Why do we drink water?
Every person at least once in life becomes interested in the secret of youth, cleansing, losing weight… and only in one thing do official and alternative medicine views coincide – you must drink water. But what kind and when?
It turns out that pure water is the only source of life and longevity, and it must also be drunk correctly.
The human body consists of 60–80% water. From here comes the answer to the question: “Why does a person drink a lot of water?” – For life!
It is not necessary to drink eight glasses of water a day. At least, there is no scientific evidence for this indication. Official medicine considers that you should drink as much as you want and when you want.
The correct amount of fluid intake depends on gender, age, weight, physical activity, environment, diet, and other characteristics.
According to statistical research by the U.S. Institute of Medicine, for men it is enough to consume 3.7 liters of fluid per day, and for women – about 2.7 liters. And it does not matter in what form water enters the body: in the form of juice, tea, soup, vegetables, or fruit.
But according to Eastern teachings, it is exactly hot water that is considered the secret of eternal youth.
Not boiling water, not warm, but water at a temperature of 40–45 degrees. At the same time, the worst thing a person can do for their body is drinking cold water or a drink containing ice.
Tibetan doctors are convinced that one glass of hot water on an empty stomach in the morning prolongs life by 10 years! Hot water strengthens the stomach and kills microbes accumulated in it during the night. In China, children are taught from childhood to drink warm water before meals. Even in cafes and restaurants, before bringing the order to the customer, they offer a hot cup of water.
Ayurveda claims that after waking up, one glass of warm water will help you get rid of:
- migraine,
- high blood pressure,
- anemia,
- obesity,
- arthritis and other diseases.
Of course, there is common sense in these statements. From cold water, the body does not wake up, but experiences shock, aimed at heating the water to optimal temperature – to internal body temperature.
In other words, vascular spasm occurs in the digestive organs and more mucus is produced to protect the walls of the stomach and esophagus, as a result digestion slows down. In parallel with stomach spasm, gallbladder spasm also occurs and bile stagnation develops.
Instead of absorbing food substances, the body uses energy to regulate temperature. This is not the best way to burn calories, on the contrary, one of the worst.
Drinking hot water on a full stomach makes no sense.
It is better to do this in the morning on an empty stomach. One glass of such water will calm the muscles of the digestive organs, cleanse the walls of the stomach from food remains and gastric juice, and normalize acid-alkaline balance.
- Thanks to one glass of hot water in the morning:
- metabolism improves,
- blood is cleansed,
- detoxification processes of the body improve through the skin, kidneys, and lymphatic system,
- bile outflow improves,
- the body gradually wakes up and the digestive system starts working very gently, without shock and overload.
The result of such a daily morning procedure will be clean skin, without oily shine and acne, weight loss without any effort, and normalization of blood pressure!
Do not think about why you should drink water on an empty stomach, but act! Do not boil, but every morning heat a glass of water and drink slowly, in small sips. Do not hurry to have breakfast, wait about 20 minutes before.
Wishing you health!
