1. Turmeric

The active substance in turmeric, curcumin, because of its strong antiseptic and antibacterial properties, eliminates bacteria and reduces phlegm, strengthens the immune system.

Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric and half a teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water and stir. Gargle this remedy three times a day to treat respiratory infections and remove phlegm in the chest area.

2. Honey and lemon

The combination of lemon and honey treats breathing problems and has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. This food stimulates the immune system and prevents swelling.

Mix 1 tablespoon of organic honey and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and consume the mixture three times a day to fight swelling and eliminate excess phlegm.

3. Salt water

To soothe sore throat and remove phlegm, gargle with warm salt water twice a day. Add 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of salt to 1 glass of filtered water and stir well until it dissolves completely.

Rinse the mixture in your mouth and tilt your head slightly back. You must allow the solution to cleanse the throat without swallowing it. Then wait for one minute.




4. Steam inhalation

Inhaling steam thins the mucus in the lungs and helps to expel it from the body. In hot water dissolve half a teaspoon of onion and rosemary and remove from fire. Cover your head with a towel and begin inhaling the steam. Repeat several times a day.

You should also take a hot bath twice a day to thin the mucus. To increase the effect, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, such as tea tree, because it has strong antimicrobial effect.

5. Ginger

Ginger has strong expectorant, antiviral, and antibacterial properties, which treat throat and chest swelling, as well as prevent breathing problems and infections. Therefore, make sure to consume 3–4 slices of ginger a day or drink several cups of ginger tea.

To prepare ginger tea, add 6 slices of ginger and one teaspoon of pepper into boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes on medium heat. When cooled, add 1 teaspoon of honey.

Another option to prevent lung swelling is to season your food with pepper, chili pepper, capsicum pepper, and garlic. Spicy foods containing capsicum, such as cayenne or pepper, will also help to temporarily clear the sinuses and move mucus.

These products will help you not only recover faster but also prevent disease. Therefore, use them more often at any time of the year.
