Try this brilliantly simple thyroid test!
50 years ago, one of the world-renowned doctors discovered that body temperature is an excellent indicator of thyroid activity. Moreover, he emphasized that only the body temperature immediately upon waking has such properties.
In his research, he explained that an unusual body temperature early in the morning can indicate inflammation of the thyroid gland, as well as a whole range of problems and diseases that arise if this organ does not function correctly.
Dr. Barnes created a home test that you can use from the comfort of your bed. You can easily and quickly find out how your thyroid gland works with the help of the most common thermometer!

How to do the test?
- Before sleep, prepare a thermometer, shake it down well. The temperature on it should be about 35° C.
- As soon as you wake up, put the thermometer in your armpit and keep it there for 10 minutes.
- Then look at the result and write it down. This result is known as the “morning basal temperature”. The normal basal body temperature is from 36.5°C to 36.8°C.
Please take into account that during inflammatory processes, as well as in women during menstruation and pregnancy, this temperature may differ. Therefore, you should only do this test when you are not in this condition.
Interpretation of the result:
- If your basal temperature is from 36.5°C to 36.8°C, then the thyroid gland is working normally.
- If the morning temperature is lower than 36.5° C, then this indicates a decreased function of the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). In this case, you should pay attention to other symptoms.
These are: depression, lack of energy, chronic fatigue, frequent colds, chronic headaches, decreased memory and concentration, and hair loss.
- If the basal body temperature is higher than 36.8°C, it means that the work of your thyroid gland is accelerated (hyperthyroidism) or some kind of inflammatory process is going on in the body.
To get the most accurate result, it is recommended to conduct this test for three days in a row.
If during this time your basal temperature is higher or lower than the normal range, be sure to consult a doctor.
And do not forget that for the normal functioning of the thyroid gland, it is necessary to take care of the condition of the liver, to avoid stress, make sure that your body has enough selenium, vitamin A, cortisol, magnesium, and vitamin B.
