I want to tell you how I overcame the increased acidity of gastric juice, and I also want to offer you other methods of recovery!
Many years ago, I was diagnosed with catarrhal gastroenteritis with high acidity. Despite diligently following all the doctor’s recommendations, stomach pain and heartburn did not leave me.
One day my husband and I went to the market. There I had an attack and immediately we returned home, I barely got out of the car. A fellow villager came and when he saw how I was suffering, he asked what had happened. When he learned about my problem, he advised me a method that had once helped him himself.
The recipe that my neighbor advised me looks like this:
Every morning I had to grate potatoes, squeeze juice from the obtained mass, mix it with 1 glass of milk, and drink 100 ml on an empty stomach, continuing this for 9 days in a row.

Potato juice
I followed the advice and began recovery. Already on the fifth day I felt significant relief, but nevertheless I drank the juice and milk for 9 days.
After this, my condition stabilized. I ate whatever I wanted, but the acidity did not increase, and stomach pain no longer bothered me.
This effect lasted for one year, and then the stomach pain, accompanied by increased acidity, appeared again. Without hesitation I repeated the treatment.
During these years I have not been troubled again by gastroenteritis. For a tendency to diarrhea, potato juice should be drunk together with the sediment, and in case of constipation – without the sediment.
here’s why this potato juice and milk recipe may have helped with stomach pain, heartburn, and high acidity:
1. Potato Juice and Acidity
Raw potato juice is naturally alkaline and can neutralize excess stomach acid.
It coats the stomach lining, which helps reduce irritation from high gastric juice acidity.
It contains compounds like glycoalkaloids (in small amounts) that have mild anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Soothing Effect of Milk
Milk temporarily buffers stomach acid, giving quick relief from heartburn and burning sensations.
Combined with potato juice, it helps calm irritation and provides proteins and calcium that support the mucosal lining.
3. Anti-inflammatory Properties
Potato juice has been used in folk medicine for gastritis and ulcers because it reduces inflammation of the stomach lining.
It also stimulates healing of irritated mucous membranes.
4. Digestive Regulation
Drinking potato juice with or without sediment affects digestion differently:
With sediment → has a mild laxative effect, useful against diarrhea by normalizing bowel movement.
Without sediment → more helpful for constipation, since it avoids irritating the intestines.
5. Rich in Nutrients
Potatoes contain vitamin C, B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants that support overall digestive health and reduce oxidative stress on the stomach lining.
The recipe works because potato juice is alkaline, anti-inflammatory, and soothing for the stomach lining, while milk adds additional buffering against acid. Together, they reduce irritation, balance acidity, and promote healing.
